Privacy Collection Notice: Aviation Security and Airside Access Management
Canberra Airport Pty Limited ACN 080 361 548, Capital Airport Group Pty Limited ACN 080 711 191 and its related entities (we, our, us, CAG) collect personal information in connection with aviation security, airside access management, security compliance, airfield operations and the administration of airport identification, access and driving authorities.
We collect personal information where you apply for, hold, sponsor, administer or require access in relation to:
- Aviation Security Identification Cards (ASICs);
- Visitor Identification Cards (VICs);
- Authorities to Drive Airside (ADAs);
- airside access permits, authorities and approvals;
- airport security clearances and access credentials; and
- other airport identification cards, access authorities or security-related permissions.
Depending on the nature of the application, access request or authority being sought, we may collect:
- full name;
- photograph;
- biometric information used for identity verification and access control purposes;
- date of birth;
- residential or postal address;
- email address and mobile telephone number;
- employer, company and business details;
- ASIC details, including ASIC number, photograph, expiry date, designator, colour and copies of ASICs;
- driver's licence details, including copies of licences and associated information;
- passport, proof of identity or other government-issued identification details;
- operational and business justification for airside access or driving authorities; and
- any other information required to assess, issue, manage, renew, suspend, revoke or administer aviation security and airside access permissions.
We collect your personal information to:
- verify your identity;
- assess eligibility for aviation security and airside access permissions;
- administer, issue, renew, suspend, replace and revoke ASIC-related access privileges;
- assess and administer VICs;
- assess and administer ADAs;
- manage access to secure areas, security-restricted areas, airside areas and other controlled airport environments;
- verify operational requirements for access to airport facilities and airfield operations areas;
- administer airport security, access control and identity management systems;
- monitor and maintain airport security and operational safety;
- manage inductions, training and competency requirements;
- investigate incidents, security breaches, unauthorised access, accidents and safety events;
- comply with obligations under aviation security, transport security, safety and regulatory requirements;
- facilitate emergency management, incident response and business continuity activities;
- communicate with you and your employer regarding security, access and operational matters; and
- maintain records required for aviation security, operational, legal and regulatory compliance purposes.
We may disclose your personal information to:
- your employer, sponsor, contractor, principal contractor or organisation responsible for your engagement;
- CAG employees, contractors and service providers involved in airport operations, safety, security, compliance, identity management and access control;
- airport security service providers and access control system providers;
- regulators, government agencies or authorities when required by law;
- emergency services and authorised incident response organisations where reasonably necessary;
- aviation security, airside operations and compliance service providers engaged by CAG;
- technology, identity verification and access management providers who assist with administering security credentials and airport access systems; and
- our professional advisers, insurers and auditors where reasonably necessary.
If you do not provide the personal information requested, we may be unable to:
- verify your identity;
- assess your eligibility for aviation security or airside access permissions;
- issue, renew or maintain an ASIC-related access privilege;
- issue a VIC;
- issue an ADA;
- grant access to secure, security-restricted or airside areas;
- permit you to undertake activities within controlled airport environments; or
- otherwise administer your access to airport facilities and operational areas.
