Airport infrastructure supports bushfire efforts

During the fire season, Canberra Airport’s portable fire-fighting base, set up by state emergency agencies became a crucial asset to serve the region.
Jo Lomas, Head of Property Management and Operations at Canberra Airport, spoke to Infrasture Magazine discussing how Canberra Airport’s location, capacity to facilitate operations and our status as the only curfew-free airport between Melbourne and Brisbane became critical to accommodate the very large air tankers and other fire-fighting aircraft that were support in the skies for on-ground teams.
