Canberrans now have access to a global network of over 170 destinations through the capital’s stunning international gateway – Canberra Airport.

On 12 February 2018, Qatar Airways became the first airline to offer a daily international service from Canberra. The service connects Canberrans to Doha with over 150 connections including 45 European cities.

Although, it makes a brief stop in Sydney, this international flight from Canberra allows travellers to clear customs and immigration in the nation’s capital, thereby eliminating the need to change terminals in Sydney.

The arrival of Qatar Airways will also mean the introduction of their Qsuites later this year, giving Canberrans access to this ultra-luxurious and exclusive business class offering. Media and guests were treated to a sneak peek of the impressive business class seats on the airline’s inaugural flight to Canberra.

The luxury continues when Singapore Airlines brings an updated aircraft to Canberra. From 1 May Singapore Airlines will offer a daily service to Singapore, replacing the previous four-weekly schedule.

This new service will be on an upgraded aircraft, offering Canberrans even more flexibility and choice. The Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft boasts four classes – first, business, premium economy and economy. For the first time, passengers travelling between Canberra and Singapore in first of business class will have access to a full flat bed and other features that take comfort to a new level.
