Today, Canberra Airport announced the commencement of direct flights between Canberra and Coffs Harbour, in partnership with Coffs Harbour Airport, ACT Government and regional airline Link Airways.

From 22 September, Link Airways will operate twice-weekly on Thursday and Sunday from Canberra Airport, with a launch price of $189 one-way. This will be the first time Canberrans can fly directly from Canberra Airport to Coffs Harbour.

Canberra Airport’s Head of Aviation, Michael Thomson, is pleased to welcome the expansion of the partnership with Link Airways and adding another domestic service to the airport’s network.

“We’re excited to connect travellers with Coffs Harbour – this underrated and spectacular part of the Mid North Coast of NSW, with pristine beaches, mountain escarpments, rainforests – a nature lovers paradise. The flights are perfectly timed to allow for luxurious long weekends.

“Canberra has never been more connected with Coffs Harbour, our 13th domestic destination and our third service with Link Airways. Canberra has never been more connected.” Mr Thomson said.

The ACT Government welcomes this investment from Link Airways in the Canberra-Coffs Harbour route,” ACT Chief Minister Andrew Barr said.

“Travellers will welcome this announcement. VisitCanberra is working with Link on cooperative marketing campaigns to promote the new service and encourage more travellers to find more than they came for in Canberra.”

Link Airways, Manager of Network Strategy Jeff Boyd believes the new route will provide a convenient and cost-effective option for passengers wanting to travel to the Coffs Coast and, inversely, to visit the Capital.

“We’re particularly pleased to announce the establishment of this connection to the much-loved destination of Coffs Harbour. We see strong demand for direct flights between Canberra and the Coffs Coast, and the proposed service will facilitate leisure and business links between the two regions,” Mr Boyd said.

Coffs Harbour Airport General Manager, Frank Mondello, was thrilled to welcome direct flights between Canberra and Coffs Harbour.

“Our second service with Link Airways, this announcement will strengthen connectivity to and from the Coffs Coast region and will be welcome news for both business and leisure travellers.

“Allowing Canberrans to explore the natural beauty and warmer weather of our wider region, this direct service allows locals to enjoy all that the ACT has to offer; world-class events, produce and experiences”.

Link Airways, a Canberra-owned airline, currently operates services across five states and territories to 15 destinations. Link Airways is owned by Corporate Air – one of the longest-established aviation service providers in eastern Australia.
