First Rex flight lands in Canberra

18 April 2021

Rex Airlines has commenced direct flights between Canberra and Sydney, with the first flight landing on the morning of Monday 19 April 2021. Initially, there will be seven daily flights between Canberra and Sydney. Fares start from $99 one-way and are available to book through the Rex website.

Rex’s affordable fares will greatly stimulate more business and leisure traffic between Sydney and the national capital as the industry continues to recover. This new Canberra – Sydney route will offer more choice for travellers, stimulate jobs and grow the air travel market.

Rex has also launched its new lounge at Canberra Airport, located in the International Lounge.

Rex is Australia’s largest independent regional and domestic airline operating a fleet of 60 Saab 340 and four Boeing 737-800NG aircraft to 62 destinations throughout all states in Australia. In addition to the airline Rex, the Rex Group comprises wholly-owned subsidiaries Pel-Air Aviation (air freight, aeromedical and charter operator) and the two pilot academies, Australian Airline Pilot Academy in Wagga Wagga and Ballarat.

We’re excited to welcome another new airline to the growing Canberra Airport family and look forward to what this new partnership will bring to the Canberra community.
