Alanna Brooks | Retail Marketing Coordinator

Who inspires you?

My family and friends inspire me with their strong and hardworking personalities, but more importantly sporting stars like Ash Barty, Liz Ellis and Elyse Perry who have achieved many goals and become role models for many young women who are chasing their sporting dreams.

What’s something hardly anyone knows about you?

I began playing rugby league at the age of 26, and have now not only made a great group of friends, but have been selected to play in the NSW Country Championships.

What does International Women’s Day mean to you?

International Women’s Day is a day where Australian’s can uplift and celebrate the achievements of all the women in their lives.

Karlien Bentley | Project Manager

What’s it like being a woman in the property industry?

Being a woman in the property industry is very exciting, challenging and fun.  It’s a fast-moving and ever-changing industry that keeps me on my toes.

What does your day-to-day look like at Capital Airport Group?

I work in a team where we are always coming and going to achieve project and company visions and outcomes. My days are mostly well organised in the mornings when I walk into the office but can change in a blink of an eye, and it’s great to adapt to change daily. It’s fun to switch from heals to steal-cap boots and back into heals on a day-to-day basis.

What does International Women’s Day mean to you?

International Woman’s Day is a day to celebrate every woman in the world for being amazing. Women can achieve anything they want, and women are flexible and adapt well to change. In today’s day and age, it’s important to be flexible and adapt to the ever-changing environment around yourself and the changes in the world, and that is what women do best.

She is smart, articulate, and communicates with empathy – an absolute breath of fresh air.

What do you love about working for the Snow Foundation?

There is never a dull day – we tackle a broad range of social issues, work with passionate people and amazing partners.
I love being able to bring people together from diverse backgrounds with a shared interest to nut out different approaches to difficult social issues and make a positive difference to people’s lives.

What does International Women’s Day mean to you?

Equality – It’s a time to shine a light on the extraordinary achievements of women, and be grateful for the incredible women that surround and support you.
IWD is a focal point to raise issues that are important to women, and from our perspective, and a time to look at how far we have come, and how far we still have to go reach equal rights.
