Everything you need to know about Link
Link Airways is one of the latest airlines to join the Canberra Airport family! The Canberra based airline initially commenced flights direct from Canberra in November 2020, and now flies direct to two domestic destinations; Hobart and Newcastle.
Link Airways operates from Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne and Sydney to destinations in New South Wales, Queensland and Tasmania. Link Airways is owned by Corporate Air (established 1972) which is one of the largest and longest established aviation service providers based in eastern Australia. The Company offers the confidence and surety that comes with over 49 years’ experience and an impeccable reputation within the aviation industry and is widely recognised for the delivery of safe, sustainable and high-quality services underpinned by industry-leading operational standards. This is why they’re a great fit for Canberra Airport.
Even after a tumultuous year of COVID-driven flight cancellations and international and domestic border closures, Link saw an opportunity to capitalise on regional domestic tourism.
The Canberra to Hobart route was reintroduced for the first time since 2013, on 5 November 2020, with Link now operating 6 weekly flights.
The Canberra to Newcastle route commenced shortly after on 20 November 2020 and currently operates 11 flights a week.
Link Airways operates a 34-passenger seat Saab 340B Plus aircraft for both its routes.
