Aerial Displays

Paul Bennet Air Displays

Paul Bennet is one of Australia’s most accomplished aerobatic pilots and a highly regarded international airshow performer. A multiple‑time Australian Aerobatic Champion, he is best known for his high‑energy displays and passion for sharing the excitement of aviation with audiences of all ages. For Airport Open Day, Paul will be bringing two of his aircraft for visitors to see up close:
  • The Wolf Pitts Pro is one of the highest‑performing aerobatic biplanes in the world, designed using modern engineering principles and advanced materials.
  • The Grumman Avenger was the heaviest and most powerful single‑engine aircraft of World War II, designed to deliver devastating capability from aircraft carriers across the Pacific.

Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) - Roulette Air Display

The Roulettes are the Royal Australian Air Force's aerobatic display team. The Roulettes fly as low as 250 feet (80 m) at speeds of up to 370 knots to 685km/h and pilots can experience up to 6 ‘G', or 6 times, the force of gravity during a display. Flying as close as three metres apart, the team showcases the level of visual judgement and hand-eye coordination that pilots in the Air Force are able to achieve.
